Let's all get together and save our youth.
L.T. F.A.D. is a free, youth and community awareness program designed by an officer with 29 years of law enforcement experience. The central character of the program is officer LT FAD. His name is the abbreviation for Live to Fight Another Day. LT FAD recognized that our legal system is somewhat broken and flawed, as some would say, but there is a DEFINITE disconnect between the community and law enforcement. This disconnect has created a great need to educate our community on how they interact with law enforcement officers, whether it’s negative or positive contact.
It is important to make sure our communities are aware of cooperating measures and thereby avoid escalation of a situation which can lead to a negative outcome and even a possible deadly force situation. Research shows that many youths are attempting to try their case on the side of the road, in their neighborhood, parks, schools or social outings, instead of the courtroom, which is leading to officer related shootings. LT FAD says this must stop!
The LT FAD program is a Free two-hour educational seminar that is designed for the sole purpose of reducing the injuries and deaths of youths in police officer-related encounters and EACH OTHER. It is our belief that by educating the youth, from the critical ages of 13 to 20 years old, on how to survive negative contact with law enforcement officers and each other. This knowledge can improve their chances for a favorable outcome (this program can also be used for adults of any age). By participating in this educational seminar and applying the skills learned, youth will greatly reduce their chances of a injury or deadly encounter with law enforcement and peers. This would allow the youth to Live to Fight Another Day in an increasingly number of situations.
The LT FAD program uses lectures, interactive videos, role playing and group discussion to educate and increase awareness to the target audience, in schools, youth organizations, churches, community centers and even in the workplace.
It is very important that we convince our youth that law enforcement is not the enemy. These encounters are not an “us against them” situation, but an opportunity to work together as one community allowing all of “us” to live another day.
*PEOPLE DON’T HAVE TO CONTINUE TO DIE IN ORDER TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE*
